Last year on the first day of summer I compiled my summer to do list. Although this year I want to do all those fun summer things, there’s one thing I want to focus on the most.
Take. More. Photos.

I need to stop being worried about “lugging” my big camera around.
I want to be more spontaneous with my photo taking. It doesn’t have to be planned or a big event.
I need to take advantage of all the extra hours of sunlight to practice.
I want to improve my Adobe Lightroom skills.
I want to increase my creativity with interesting angles and fun shots.
I want to learn and get better.

My goal is to post one photograph a week.
Happy 1st day of summer!

Beautiful photo of the reflection on the sunglasses!
Brendan can help teach you some pointers when we visit!
yessss
Such a good goal! I look forward to seeing what you post!
thanks Anna
I really love this idea! I definitely don’t take enough photos either, although having instagram has gotten me to take to take more. Can’t wait to see your photos!
That’s true! Instagram has helped, but it’s still not the same as DSLR, so I need to stop being lazy/intimidated and put more effort in!
I think that is a great goal! Nothing beats summer light! I need to get a better camera first and then I need to work on my photography skills.
thanks! finding time to work on those skills is the hardest part… so i need to make the time!
I had a big hang-up about lugging my Canon Rebel around with me, too — especially after years of just using my phone or a small point-and-shoot on the go. But once I started making an effort to take my big camera with me on the weekends or even during the week, I really started getting some shots I could be proud of. I think you’ll be impressed with what you capture!
That kind of thinking is exactly why I want to start carrying around more often. when i only have it with me occasionally it puts more pressure on having good shots. and that won’t happen if i don’t have time to practice! thanks for the encouragement
Oh wow that first shot is amazing!
