So I didn’t cancel my membership… but I’m glad I didn’t because this month’s box is a good one!
When I opened my mailbox, a strong perfume scent greeted me, followed by the sight of my hot pink box. Such a fun thing to get in the mail!
The theme this month is starting fresh.
What I’m the most excited about is the full size Stila smudge stick! This is a bronzey color, and since I only usually buy black eye liner, it will be fun to play around and see if I like brown.
I already own a Juicy Couture perfume that is my go to scent. But this Birchbox included a sample of a different one to try out. I love that it’s a spray and not just a tube that I would accidentally spill all over the place. It’s great having all these little samples to switch things up from my regular scents or for travel.
I’m kind of ridiculously excited about getting a Larabar because I’ve read about them on so many blogs, but I’ve never tried one!
This soap smells heavenly. It also apparently contains antioxidants.
And then there’s another face wash. To be honest I haven’t used the last 3 I’ve gotten from Birchbox yet… they will be good for travel. I’m curious to try this brand out though, because it says its good for both dry and oily spots, which is good for my skin.
Overall I’m quite pleased with this Birchbox, especially the surprise of getting a full-size, fun (non skin care) item!
What is Birchbox? Birchbox is a monthly subscription of high-end beauty product samples. For $10 a month you get a box of 4-5 of hand-picked sample products (based on an online questionnaire) shipped to your door, with tips and tutorials of how to use them. It is a fun way to try new products and discover what you love without the commitment of sky-high luxury prices to do so.
See my July, August, September, October, November and December Birchboxes.

Did you get anything in your Birchbox that was different from mine?
This is what was in mine…http://wp.me/p1OVI5-32
I love Origins products…
The box is just $10 a month? Not a bad deal! Plus, it’s nice to get something in the mail.
I think it’s a great deal for what you get, it’s gotten me into products that I would normally not try or invest in without trying out!
I just got my Jan box too and I love it! I’m going to talk about it in my post tomorrow, but I got some good stuff too
I look forward to some birchbox envy tomorrow then
These boxes just look SO fun. I still haven’t found out if the company ships to Canada or not…!
I can’t believe you haven’t tried a Larabar yet – you will LOVE them! Can’t wait to hear what you think – though I have never tried that flavour, so you beat me!
yeah i don’t think they ship to Canada yet, it’s still a new company. but yes I am excited to try it out and see if it’s worth $1.50/bar at the grocery store!
I was so pumped to get my box in the mail this time — and yes, awesome goodies! I got the same stila eyeliner, though mine is peacock blue. I’m usually all about the black eyeliner, too, so I’m looking forward to switching it up. I also got the Origins cleanser and a Larabar (mine is chocolate chip cookie dough), and my other samples were a sampler of Viva La Juicy, which happens to be one of my favorite scents — and I just ran out of mine! So I threw that right in my purse. And instead of the pomegranate soup I got a small bottle of VMV Hypoallergenics lotion. It feels nice — and is non-scented, so that’s good for work! (Everyone complains when any sort of scent is sprayed/poured!)
oooh I wish I got the blue eyeliner! but it’s cool how they switch things up and no two are the same, yet there’s commonalities too. exciting stuff
That face wash is a really good one! Plus, I love the way Origins products smell. I’m very interested in that eyeliner, too! I always wear brown, but I need one that will.not.budge. The Urban Decay 24/7 liner is my fav so far. It stays on forever. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t stay sharp very long. Not a big deal, but I hate sharpening my liner for some odd reason!
Yeah, I only buy the ones your roll up now because I hated having to sharpen real pencils. Those are easier to manipulate to make pointy at all times!
That’s it! I am doing this… I have just heard too many great things about birchbox and realized that I need one. Lastly, I have a mini Larabar right now in my purse and I have no idea where I got it but I am so happy that you reminded me that I need to eat it. Now.
